This policy explains what personal information Cakeez Bakers ("we") collects through cakeez.in, why, and your choices. Questions: hello@cakeezbakers.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address. If you use a password, we store only a one-way encrypted hash of it, never the password itself.
- Google or Apple sign-in: your name, email address and a technical account identifier from Google or Apple. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive and use Apple's relay address.
- Orders: recipient name, phone number, delivery address, delivery date and time, the message for the cake, the items and amounts, and your email for the confirmation.
- Saved addresses and wishlist when you are signed in.
- Enquiries: details you send through our custom-cake form, newsletter form, WhatsApp or our chat assistant.
How we use it
- To bake, deliver and support your orders, and to send order confirmations.
- To run your account: sign-in, email verification, password resets, order history, addresses and wishlist.
- To reply to your enquiries and, if you asked us to, tell you about new cakes.
- To protect the site, for example by limiting repeated sign-in attempts.
We do not sell your personal information.
Services that process data for us
- Google Firebase Authentication, when you choose "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple".
- Apple, when you choose "Continue with Apple".
- Razorpay processes online payments. Your card, UPI or bank details go directly to Razorpay; we do not see or store them.
- Hostinger hosts this website and sends our emails from order@cakeez.in.
- OpenAI generates replies in our chat assistant from the messages you type there.
Cookies and storage on your device
We use one essential session cookie to keep your cart and sign-in working. Your wishlist and recent searches are also kept in your browser's local storage so they work without an account; signing out removes the wishlist copy from that device.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open, and order records for as long as needed for delivery, accounting and legal requirements. Verification and password-reset links expire after 24 hours and 1 hour respectively.
Your choices
You can update your name and saved addresses in your account. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account, email hello@cakeezbakers.com from the address on your account.
